Job Description

We are seeking a motivated intern to join the ARC AI Project Team. The candidate will play a key role in supporting the deployment of AI projects for our GE Vernova Power Transmission business, participating in all phases from idea generation and assessment, through proof of concept and minimum viable product (MVP), to full activation of AI solutions. Beside the ARC AI team, the candidate will work closely with the Power Transmission AI project teams to transfer their business needs into AI solutions in a cross-functional environment.

Primary Skills Developed:

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities through direct engagement with complex AI projects.
  • Effective communication skills gained from collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in the end-to-end deployment of AI solutions, including project scoping, development, validation, and implementation.
  • Insight into real-world business challenges and the application of AI technologies to drive meaningful business transformation.

Project Outcomes:

  • Collaborate with the ARC and Power Transmission AI teams to identify and evaluate new opportunities for AI projects.
  • Support the design, development, and validation of AI proofs of concept and minimum viable products (MVPs).
  • Assist in the deployment and integration of AI solutions within the business unit, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Partner with project teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective AI-driven solutions.
  • Contribute to comprehensive project documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing to promote best practices and cross-team learning.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Because of the specific categories of data handled by GE Vernova Advanced Research and the structure of our work environment, we are unable to accommodate employment of persons while they are considered nationals of countries subject to comprehensive restrictions under the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 CFR Section 746 et seq.   • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Minimum GPA 4.0 / 5.0 scale or 3.0/4.0 scale.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages, such as Python
  • Solid understanding of AI and machine learning principles
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
