Location: St. Mary's Medical Center- Blue Springs, MO
Seeking a Gift Shop & Volunteer Coordinator to support a patient-centered healthcare environment by overseeing gift shop operations and volunteer program coordination. This role plays an important part in enhancing the patient, visitor, and staff experience by delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in retail operations, customer service, volunteer coordination, inventory management, and scheduling, along with a passion for supporting hospital initiatives and community engagement. Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
- Oversee daily gift shop operations, including sales, merchandising, and cash handling.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock levels.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and schedule volunteers.
- Maintain volunteer records, compliance, and documentation.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments across departments.
- Support hospital events, fund-raising efforts, and community outreach initiatives.
- Track and report on sales performance and volunteer program activity.
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
- Two years in retail or sales preferred.
- Merchandise display preferred.
- Experience working with volunteers preferred.
- Cash register, calculator, and computer experience necessary.
- Strong Customer Service required
