About this role
As a Graduate Data Analyst Intern – Operations & Supply Chain, you will take ownership of real analytics work that directly influences operational decisions across manufacturing, planning, inventory, and fulfillment. This role is designed specifically for Master’s students who want hands-on experience working with enterprise-scale data, ERP-driven processes, and real execution constraints — not hypothetical case studies. You will be treated as a junior member of the analytics team, with clear deliverables, feedback, and accountability.
As a Graduate Data Analyst Intern – Operations & Supply Chain, you will support real, high-impact analytics work that directly influences operational decision-making. This role is designed for graduate students looking to apply analytical skills to complex, real-world supply chain challenges. You will work closely with experienced analysts and supply chain leaders to develop dashboards, analyze operational data, and help improve visibility across inventory, demand, and execution performance. This internship emphasizes learning by doing, with exposure to enterprise data, ERP-driven processes, and cross-functional problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analytics & Reporting Ownership: Design, build, and maintain analytical dashboards and data models using Power BI, SQL, and Excel to support critical supply chain metrics, including inventory health, backlog, on-time delivery (OTD), and production flow. Ensure outputs are accurate, scalable, and decision-ready.
- Supply Chain Data Analysis: Analyze complex datasets from ERP and MRP systems, demand plans, and operational reports to identify trends, risks, and root causes of performance gaps. Translate findings into clear insights that support planning and execution decisions.
- Inventory & Planning Insights: Support inventory planning and forecasting efforts by analyzing usage patterns, supply variability, and demand signals. Help surface inventory risks such as shortages, excess, and misalignment between demand, supply, and production constraints.
- MRP & Master Data Analysis: Develop an understanding of how BOM structures, lead times, lot sizes, and planning parameters impact operational outcomes. Assist in validating data inputs and analyzing MRP signals to improve planning accuracy and execution reliability.
- Operational Problem Solving: Contribute to high-impact analytics initiatives focused on improving execution performance, reducing decision noise, and increasing clarity for planning, manufacturing, and operations teams. Support structured problem solving using data-driven approaches.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining manual reporting and improving data consistency by supporting automation, standardization, and improved data pipelines, helping enable faster and more reliable decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across manufacturing, planning, customer service, logistics, and analytics to understand operational workflows and ensure analytics outputs are aligned to real execution needs.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document analytical logic, assumptions, definitions, and learnings to support repeatable, scalable, and well-governed analytics solutions within the supply chain analytics ecosystem.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated interest in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain analytics
- Strong proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience with SQL and/or Power BI required
- Ability to work with complex, imperfect datasets and ask structured, insight driven questions
- Strong attention to detail with a desire to understand how systems, data, and processes interact
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to diverse audiences
- Motivation to learn enterprise analytics tools, planning concepts, and operational workflows in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior academic, research, or internship experience in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or analytics
- Exposure to ERP or MRP systems through coursework, projects, or work experience
- Familiarity with statistics, forecasting, or basic modeling techniques
- Experience using Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar tools in academic or practical settings
- Interest in process improvement, Lean thinking, or operational problem-solving frameworks
- Ability to independently explore data, validate assumptions, and propose next-step analyses
What You’ll Gain:
- Hands-on experience working with enterprise-scale supply chain and operational data
- Exposure to real planning, inventory, and execution challenges within a global organization
- Mentorship from experienced data analysts and senior supply chain leaders
- Practical experience delivering analytics that directly influence operational decisions
- A strong foundation for full-time roles in data analytics, operations, or supply chain
