Project Overview:
The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) safely destroyed 2,611 tons of mustard agent in mortar rounds and artillery projectiles stored at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD) approximately 25 miles from Pueblo, Colorado. The PCAPP project has entered the demolition phase of the closure process.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will ensure maintenance and facility documentation is adequate and complete. You will prepare shipping documents, coordinate transport, perform inspections, and prepare system turnover packages. You will assist with technician training and training program materials. Your efforts will support the safety culture by enforcing a safe work environment in accordance with procedures. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists subcontract technical representative functions when required
- Compiles reports including Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act/Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act reports when required
- Performs inspections in areas of expertise and activities deemed necessary
- Prepares and signs shipping documentation, coordinates transport activities, and coordinates the management activities with off-site disposal facilities when needed
- Maintains plans and procedures including the Hazardous Waste Management and Hazardous Material Environmental Reporting Plan and the Waste Shipment Documentation Procedure
- Prepares the system turnover packages in accordance with project procedures by assembling and reviewing all system test documentation for adequacy and completeness
- Maintains training program material intended for classroom and on-the-job training of client personnel
- Maintains plans and procedures including the Hazardous Waste Management and Hazardous Material Environmental Reporting Plan and the Waste Shipment Documentation Procedure
- Supports the safety culture by working safely, in accordance with procedures, and by enforcing a safe work environment
- Create/fill waste containers in accordance with procedures
- Operate various weigh scales including truck scales
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of waste acceptance criteria for treatment, storage, and disposal facilities
- Knowledge in the preparation of hazardous material/hazardous waste shipments and shipping documents in compliance with EPA and DOT
- Current 24-HR OSHA HAZWOPER certification
- Must complete accredited DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Courses
- Shipping experience for the Department of Defense
