JOB TITLE:
Health Room Assistant

JOB GOAL:
To provide health and safety services to students and clerical record-keeping in the health room. May be asked to receive additional training in Diabetic Care as a Parent Designated Adult as determined by parent and health teams.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Preference for person with one or more years of experience working in a school-related clerical position and/or health related field. Demonstrated competence in use of all office machines including computers, printer, and copier. Ability to be trained and serve as a Parent Designated Adult (PDA) to provide diabetic care, including blood glucose monitoring, in strict accordance with individual student healthcare plans. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Knowledge of or ability to learn Qmlativ student data system. Ability to set priorities and work with minimal supervision. Ability to be a cooperative and productive member of the staff, remaining flexible to changes in job tasks. Ability to communicate harmoniously with students, staff, and parents. Commitment to communicating effectively and inclusively in multicultural settings. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information. Current First Aid/CPR card required, or ability to obtain.
EMPLOYMENT
TERMS:
6.0 hrs/day, Monday-Friday during the school year. Salary range: $26.02-$29.63 per hour, per Collective Bargaining Agreement. An additional $.50/per hour is awarded to those with a college degree. Ability to pass Federal/State criminal history background clearance and all other mandated clearances. This position is part of the local bargaining association. Medical, dental, and other benefits available from district approved plans based on SEBB requirements. When hiring and promoting personnel, consideration is given to experience and performance in developing effective parent, family and community partnerships. Individuals on layoff status, who meet job requirements, shall receive first consideration for newly posted positions within the appropriate job classifications.

Alternate sitting, standing, walking, attending, listening, and speaking. Minimal strength and agility. Verbal and written communication, interaction with students and staff, and problem solving, constant interruptions, operation of office equipment, and knowledge of district and school policies.
