Job Overview:
As a paid Healthcare Assistant Apprentice, sophomores will gain a blend of classroom learning and real-world healthcare experience. This program is designed to introduce students to healthcare early while building foundational knowledge and hands-on exposure.
Students will:
- Attend on-site coursework and training in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College
- Participate in job shadowing and clinical experiences across multiple healthcare settings
- Support care teams while exploring a variety of career paths
- Build confidence in a professional healthcare environment
- Begin preparing for industry-recognized certifications while still in high school
This opportunity is exclusively for current high school sophomores who are interested in pursuing a future in healthcare and want to get an early start.
What You Will Need:
- Must be a current high school sophomore interested in pursuing a future in healthcare
- No prior healthcare experience required - this is a learning-based apprenticeship opportunity
- Interest in exploring healthcare careers
- Willingness to learn in both classroom and clinical environments

Reliable transportation to assigned sites
- Ability to meet onboarding requirements (background check, immunizations, etc.)
What You will Earn:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Dual-credit courses through Ivy Tech, including:
- Medical Terminology
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Introduction to Psychology
- Indiana Diploma: Employment Honors Plus Seal
