HEMPLER’S HISTORY & MISSION:
Our quality products have a heritage dating back to the early 1800’s at the Hempler’s family sausage kitchen in Borken, Germany. Hans Hempler worked in the family sausage business in Germany as a youngster. He served as an apprentice sausage maker and learned first-hand the family’s old secret recipes becoming a master sausage maker before moving to the United States. Hans came to the United States in 1928 and, in those early years, worked hard and saved his money. It is our mission, and passion, to produce and distribute the highest quality products, while operating with the highest integrity and standards for personalized service to our customers. ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for providing general Human Resources administrative support, including but not limited to ensuring the accuracy of information in the Human Resources Information System, coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation, maintenance of employee files, coordination of employee communication and HR related programs and events.
What You’ll Do
As our HR Coordinator, you’ll provide essential administrative and coordination support, including:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Coordinating and facilitating new hire orientation, helping employees feel welcomed from day one
- Maintaining employee personnel files in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements
- Supporting employee communications, including HR announcements and updates
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of HR programs, initiatives, and employee events
- Providing general administrative support to the Human Resources team
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM Onsite position
WAGE: Salary range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, subject to all required taxes and withholdings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the Human Resource Information System (ADP) with accurate information including new hires, status changes, rate changes, terminations, etc.
- Conduct pre-employment checks and coordinate new hire paperwork, including completion of I-9 and verification of I-9 documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientations.
- Maintain all employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy of active / terminated files and contents; verifies all new hire forms are received and ensure compliance with federal guidelines and company requirements.
- Maintains I-9 files, ensuring compliance with federal requirements.
- Provide general employee and management support through answering questions pertaining to HR related topics.
- Plan and create content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as the company intranet, bulletin boards, newsletters, or email.
- Coordinate the teammate recognition programs.
- Maintain HR site on company intranet.
- Perform general reporting and analytics as requested.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Support the HR team on various projects and/or initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates/bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field preferred
- aPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- 1 - 2 years of administrative experience with administrative Human Resources duties preferred
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems
- General knowledge of Human Resources processes, state and federal laws and regulations
- Microsoft Office computer software applications at a medium to expert user level.
- Must be able to multi-task with ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required.
- Maintain discretion in working with confidential information and materials.
- A self-starter who is motivated and able to set and meet deadlines.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong emphasis on customer service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work environment is that of an office environment. This employee regularly works with office equipment, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment when on the production floor. This employee work around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Physical work including climbing stairs, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
- Ability to handle items weighting under 25lbs or may need to move objects safely and with proper body mechanics.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
