HIGHWAY TECHNICIAN IN HEAVY EQUIPMENT - WV PARKWAYS AUTHORITY

Job Location: Beckley, WV

Essential Functions of the Job
It is the duty and responsibility of this employee to participate, accept and cooperate in on the job training in the operation of all roadway maintenance activities and sectional equipment. 
Shall be responsible for the skillful operation of all sectional equipment.
Shall be responsible for skilled operation of assigned special equipment. 
Shall be responsible for the training of crew members in roadway maintenance and equipment use. 
Shall be responsible for the completion of all maintenance activities assigned to said employee. 
Other duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate.
Ability to accept, plan, direct and coordinate the work of Apprentices and other Maintenance Technicians.
Ability to accept supervision. 
Ability to work without supervision. 
 Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
Ability to withstand and work in adverse weather conditions.


Equipment 
Shall be an accomplished operator of all sectional equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Highschool Diploma or GED
Must be able to pass a background check 
Must have Class A CDL's
Shall be accomplished operator of all section equipment
