Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and performing the daily environmental cleaning and maintenance functions of the interior and exterior areas of the facility, including utilities, equipment, furniture, and fixtures. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff while supervising the daily operations of the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance Departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform daily floor cleaning and maintenance, including dry mopping, wet mopping, and buffing, in resident rooms, offices, storage areas, departmental areas, and common areas in accordance with established facility policies and procedures.
- Remove and replace floor finish on tile floors as needed.
- Oversee the prompt cleaning of spills and soiled areas as directed.
- Maintain clean, organized storage areas and move furniture as needed.
- Perform minor repairs to the building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures as necessary.
- Ensure proper functioning and adequacy of facility lighting and report or address deficiencies as appropriate.
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
- Oversee the daily functions of Maintenance Services.
- Assist with turning or flipping resident mattresses as needed.
- Oversee the cleaning of the dining room following all meals.
- Change cubicle curtains and drapes as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all policies and regulations regarding resident rights.
- Recognize, prevent, and report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of residents in accordance with facility policy.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in which residents may live.
- Serve as an active member of the facility team by placing residents as the highest priority.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels for the Environmental Services and Maintenance Departments.

SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:
Tasks and procedures performed by the employee involve risks classified by C.D.C. as
Category II. (Activity performed without blood exposure but exposure may occur in the event
of an emergency.)
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to tolerate a high pace as typical for a nursing facility. Must be able to take and give instructions well and enjoy working with the elderly. Although employee is able to sit, must also be able to tolerate prolonged standing and walking.
