We're seeking qualified Housing Finance Specialists to join our Compliance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to ensuring regulatory compliance through comprehensive monitoring of regulatory requirements and inspecting property conditions. Successful candidates will possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, excellent written and verbal communication skills, analyzing documentation, and interpreting federal and state regulations to monitor and verify compliance of project owners and property managers. This position requires regular overnight travel. Employees must be available to travel overnight, including occasional multi-day trips to conduct in-state site visits.

Position Duties

Three years of experience in housing finance or compliance programs, housing management, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

  • Ensures that funds allocated by the Louisiana Housing Corporation and Office of Community Development are used effectively in accordance with the rules and regulations of programs administered by LHC.
  • Conducts random and scheduled field examinations to determine compliance with state and federal laws, policies, rules, and regulations.  These examinations include review of area median income (AMI) limits, rent calculations, physical conditions, operation procedures, and unit inspections to ensure compliance with program regulations.
  • Identifies findings, deficiencies, and/or concerns resulting from monitoring tasks by comparing applications, and/or compliance checklist to supporting documents.
  • Trains owner/developers/lenders/project management staff in program requirements and provides technical support in all program areas.
  • Sends notices for non-compliance stating measures necessary to meet compliance standards and initiates appropriate remedial action for non-compliance when warranted as directed by Compliance Supervisor.
  • Prepares statistical data on standardized reports for Auditors, Board Meetings, and Federal Regulatory Agencies.
