Summary:

The HR Coordinator is the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners. This role is responsible for HR-related data entry, administering policies related to human resources activities and will work collaboratively with the HR Manager and Plant supervisors/managers to ensure the HR function is meeting the needs of Trident Seafoods.

Note:  Effective 1 December 2024, HR Coordinator residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs):

  • Complies with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. 
  • Provides HR administrative support to HR and operations teams with administrative tasks, such as payroll and travel arrangements. 
  • Keeps records and completes employment related forms, and documentation including separation forms and related documentation. 
  • Assists with answering employees’ questions related to Dayforce helping employees update Direct Deposit, W-4, address changes, etc. as needed. 
  • Perform data entry into HR database and runs various reports. (Maintain time and attendance system) 
  • Maintain confidentiality of department and associate information. 
  • Create and maintain records on employees, active vacancies and job applications. 
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. 
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. 
  • Assists with employee surveys, and helps conduct exit interviews, if needed 
  • Creates, activates, and maintains employee ID badges, if needed 
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs): 

  • Minimum six months experience in administrative working environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task as well as organize and prioritize work tasks. 
  • Position requires schedule of 12+ hours per day, 7 days per week, and may rotate on a night shift. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse populations and employees at all levels of the organization.   
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, set and achieve goals, and evaluate programs and procedures and recommend improvements 

Preferred education and experience: 

  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages preferred 
  • Knowledge of payroll and HR administrative processes 
  • Knowledge of travel procedures

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):  

This job takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and has moderate noise. 

Physical demands:  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for long periods and often sit at a desk in an office environment. 

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. 

May occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
