Summary

The Analyst - Freight Forwarding Human Resources position provides execution-focused support to the Human Resources team by handling day-to-day HR operations such as benefits and leave administration, HRIS data processing, employee relations documentation support, and coordination of culture and organizational development activities. The role follows established HR systems and processes supported by HR shared services and focuses on accurate documentation, process adherence, and operational support. 

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & HRIS Administration
    • Maintain employee records and data in the HRIS system in alignment with centralized HR systems and standard operating practices supported by the HR shared services team 
    • Process routine HRIS transactions, including new hires, job changes, compensation updates, and terminations, based on approved documentation
    • Ensure employee files and required HR documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained
    • Generate standard HR reports (headcount, employee lists, status changes, etc.) as requested by HR leadership 
  • Benefits & Leave Administration Support 
    • Support employee benefits administration activities, including data updates, documentation processing, and employee inquiries, in coordination with HR Shared Services
    • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and new hire benefits orientation support, following established processes
    • Support leave of absence processes by collecting required documentation, tracking leave status, and preparing materials for HR review 
    • Coordinate return-to-work documentation and follow-up activities under supervisor guidance 
  • Employee Relations (ER) Process Support
    • Support employee relations processes by assisting with case intake documentation, interview scheduling, and note-taking
    • Maintain ER case files, trackers, and related documentation in a confidential and organized manner
    • Assist HR leadership in preparing ER-related summaries, timelines, and follow-up materials
    • Promptly escalate sensitive employee concerns or potential issues to the HR Supervisor or HR Manager
  • Organizational Development & Culture Program Support
    • Support organizational development and culture-related initiatives, including employee surveys, engagement activities, and internal programs
    • Assist with coordination and logistics for internal events, training sessions, and culture initiatives
    • Track participation, collect feedback, and organize data for review by HR leadership
    • Support internal communications related to culture and engagement activities as needed
  • Administrative Support 
    • Compete verification of employment (VOE) requests
    • Ad-Hoc reporting 
    • Scan or read incoming materials to determine how and where they should be classified or filed 
    • Perform general office activities, such as typing, answering telephones, operating office machines, processing mail, or securing confidential materials
    • Add new material to file records or create new records as necessary 
    • Find, retrieve, and make copies of information from files in response to requests and deliver information to authorized users
    • Other duties as assigned

Compensation Range

$48,000 - $53,000 annually (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Education & Experience

  • H.S Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • 1 - 2 Years of related experience in Human Resources, Benefits, or as a Human Resources Generalist Required
  • 3 - 5 Years of experience in Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, or as a Human Resources Generalist Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods 
  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Stand/walk
