Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will support a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, classification, and personnel administration. This position plays a key role in ensuring the facility’s HR operations run efficiently and in accordance with state policies and procedures

Position Duties

Three years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

• Assist with recruitment and selection activities, including posting vacancies, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and processing hiring paperwork.
• Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and departmental policies.
• Provide support in classification and compensation matters, including position reviews, job analysis, and salary determinations.
• Process personnel actions such as promotions, reallocations, separations, and disciplinary documents in accordance with Civil Service rules.
• Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors by responding to inquiries related to HR policies, leave programs, benefits, and workplace procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing HR procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across the facility.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT

  • A job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
  • This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process. If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

  • Human Resources Analyst A has an SER of $20.20 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst B has an SER of $21.61 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst C has an SER of $24.31 per hour

Career Progression Group: HUMAN RESOURCES A, B, OR C

  • Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
  • Salary depends on the level of experience.
