This position works 8 hours per day and 5 days per week and 260 days per year
The scheduled work hours for this position are 7:30 AM -4:00 PM.

Position Summary:
The HR Assistant – Support Staff acts as a Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist, focusing heavily on recruiting for all support personnel. This role is responsible for executing HR-related duties that support department functions, including recruitment, onboarding, HRIS data integrity, and employment law compliance. As recruitment is a primary focus, this position serves as the front-line ambassador for the district’s talent pipeline.
Essential Skills and Requirements
Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a school setting or a professional Human Resources office.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace. Ability to manage complex data entry, create formulas for spreadsheets, and perform data queries.
Communication: Exceptional tact and professionalism in both written and verbal communications, with the ability to project a positive image of the district.
Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with state/federal laws regarding hiring practices and personnel record maintenance.
Core Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Process
- Execute recruitment efforts for support staff positions, including drafting and posting job openings, sourcing candidates, and facilitating the interview process.
- Partner with hiring managers to provide hiring recommendations based on candidate evaluations and interview outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidate experience management, responding professionally to inquiries regarding job status, selection processes, and application updates.
- Coordinate and represent the district at recruitment and employment fairs, preparing all necessary marketing and recruitment materials to attract top talent.
Onboarding & Lifecycle Management
- Manage the offer management process, including extending formal job offers and verifying professional references.
- Oversee the pre-employment screening process, ensuring all background checks and required new hire paperwork are completed accurately.
- Facilitate New Employee Orientations (NEO) and coordinate essential training sessions to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
- Prepare and submit all new hire information and personnel actions (hires, rehires, resignations, transfers and retirements) for Board of Education approval.
HRIS Administration & Data Integrity
- Maintain data integrity within the district’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and payroll system for all active support staff.
- Ensure the timely and accurate transfer of new hire data and personnel changes to the payroll department.
- Perform annual utility rolls of pay assignments and prepare Letters of Assurance for the new fiscal year.
- Process employee credentials, including photo ID badges.
Compliance & Departmental Support
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all personnel files and sensitive employee information in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist employees and supervisors with the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and employment standards.
- Audit personnel records regularly to ensure compliance with employment laws and district standards.
