About this role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support and services to the Chief Talent Officer. He/She will adhere to the policies established by The Arc Eastern Connecticut and Board of Directors whose goal is to maintain full community inclusion and integration for all individuals who are supported by The Arc Eastern Connecticut.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree or college courses in Administration or related field is desired.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Must have a completed Covid vaccine
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the Chief Talent Officer with the day-today operations of the HR department.
  • Serves as an informational resource for employees and managers for basic Human Resources related matters.  Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.   Refers more involved and or complex matters to the Chief Talent Officer.
  • Assists with the recruiting function for the organization to include job postings, applicant screening, and attending recruiting events.
  • Data Entry, Filing, Scanning, and assisting with New Hire Orientation.
  • Ensures confidentiality as required by law.
  • Fundamental understanding of Recruitment.
  • Other duties assigned by the Chief Talent Officer.

  • Advocates for the protects participants rights in accordance with The Arc policies and procedures.
