About this role

Wedgewood Weddings is seeking a People & Culture Assistant to join our team in Temecula, CA. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture function, with a primary focus on onboarding, HRIS administration, and employee record management. 

The People & Culture Assistant plays a key role in ensuring accurate data, timely processing of employment changes, and a smooth, positive experience for team members across all locations.

This role requires flexibility, including weekend availability, to support onboarding, hiring activity, and business needs across our venues.

What You'll Do

  • Execute the full pre-employment and onboarding process, including reference checks, offer letters, background checks, and completion of all required new hire documentation 
  • Process employee lifecycle changes in ADP, including hires, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations, ensuring compliance with applicable state laws 
  • Maintain and audit employee records, including electronic I-9 files, to ensure accuracy and compliance 
  • Ensure all personnel data in ADP is current and accurate, including pay rates, benefit status (ACA), and leave of absence tracking 
  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries, providing support on HR-related questions and ADP access/registration 
  • Process employment verifications and fulfill records requests in a timely manner 
  • Upload, file, and maintain employee documentation in appropriate systems 
  • Support reporting needs and assist with routine HR data tracking and audits 
  • Provide general administrative support to the People & Culture team as needed 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to support employees across multiple locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred
  • Experience in hospitality or multi-location environments is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally

The important extras: 

  • As is typical in the hospitality industry, this position requires regular availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as shifts of more than 8 hours and workweeks of more than 40 hours.
