A Brief Overview
The Human Resources Associate is the frontline representative of the Human Resources Department. Assists with administering HR policies and procedures for the department. Performs HR-related duties on a professional level working closely with HR management. This entry-level service-oriented role is responsible for providing exceptional Customer Service to Heartland Bank employees by responding promptly and accurately to requests for information. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and typically does not require exercising independent judgement. This role will have a strong focus in the area of Employee Relations and Benefits.
What you will do
- Monitor HR queue and answer general questions for all areas of HR while escalating inquiries to others as needed.
- Respond in a timely and professional manner to all employee questions and requests.
- Provide administrative support to all functional areas within HR according to established procedures and legal guidelines.
- Coordinate, assist with and attend meetings, events, job fairs and other types of gatherings.
- Process new hires, status changes, exit interviews and voluntary terminations in a timely manner. Daily tasks performed are dependent on area of focus.
- Foster a teamwork/open-door environment conducive to positive dialogue across the Bank.
- Maintain and update procedures for routine duties.
- Maintain general knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
Other Qualifications/Requirements
- Thorough understanding of and willingness to consistently apply bank policy.
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning best practice HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Bachelor�s Degree and minimum 1 year Banking, HR, or related area preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI preferred.
- Employee Relations and Benefits experience preferred.
