Position Overview:
The Human Resources Associate is an excellent entry point into a dynamic HR career. In this role, you'll support a diverse workforce-including manufacturing teams, corporate staff, and retail showroom professionals-while learning from an experienced and supportive HR team.
You'll gain hands‑on experience with high‑volume HR operations, compliance documentation, HR systems, recruiting coordination, onboarding, and day‑to‑day employee support. No prior HR experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to help you build confidence and capability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Identify routine employee and operational needs and escalate appropriately
- Demonstrate organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Collect, maintain, and assist with HR data, records, and reports
- Function as an integral part of a team, within HR and cross‑functionally
- Develop understanding of manufacturing operations and corporate business functions
- Build knowledge of HR regulations and employment laws impacting the business
- Leverage systems, tools, and resources to maximize efficiency and accuracy
- Demonstrate learning agility, attention to detail, creativity and reliability
- Think digital first – finding ways to improve our team's operations and efficiency through use of technology
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the candidate journey to ensure timely and accurate progression through recruitment stages; coordinating recruiting activities in iSolved: post jobs, candidate outreach, schedule and conduct interviews, and conduct reference checks.
- Assist with onboarding tasks, including new hire orientation, preparing plan with Manager/Supervisor and completing UKG actions.
- Create and manage communication and digital content across sites and activities, maintaining HR SharePoint content, and managing text alert notifications. Use tools such as Canva.
- Communicate and administer key elements of our benefit program including: new hire presentations, change of status tracking, first line questions and on-going employee communication
- Plan and execute company events, employee meetings, recognition activities, and wellness initiatives.
- Support Stickley's Health Offices & Occupational Health staff through variety of actions and activities aimed at top tier health & safety outcomes and care for employee wellness
- Support day‑to‑day HR operations, including HRIS data entry, employee changes, and personnel file maintenance.
- Learn UKG time and attendance system, managing attendance reports/program, updating UKG records, and assist Supervisors/Managers as needed
- Manage and administer compliance and HR operations documentation including but not limited to I‑9 and E‑Verify processing, unemployment claim responses, expense items, conduct routine audits for benefit and compensation programs, etc.
- Work with other team members to support customer and vendor calls and visits, often being the first introduction to our team and business
Education & Experience Requirements Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, or related field OR
- Master's degree in a related discipline
