Performs moderately difficult clerical assignments consisting of a variety of transactions relating to one or more of the major functional areas of human resources management; and performs other related duties as required.Examples of Duties:

- Prepares personnel action forms, such as appointments, changes in status, separations and other transactions are required;
- Checks forms for completeness of information and reviews supporting documents to determine that data is consistent with established personnel procedures and departmental practices;
- Compiles and keeps personnel records;
- Records data for each employee, files employment records;
- Searches employee files and furnishes information to authorized persons;
- Prepares notices to report for written examinations and assists in monitoring examinations;
- Prepares and maintains various County-wide reports;
- Types reports and other documents;
- Explains pertinent rules and regulations relative to application to civil service positions as required;
- Prepares materials for new employee orientation;
- May assist in training programs by preparing circulars, calendars and other documents for training courses; and
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Training and Experience:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school; and
one (1) year of clerical experience, and
one (1) year of specialized work experience.
Qualifying Clerical Experience:
experience which involved the performance of a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems, and operate various kinds of office equipment including computers, Microsoft Office, and other technologies.
Qualifying Specialized Work Experience:
Work experience which required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.
