- Can demonstrate competency in general knowledge of clerical skills
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and other related duties as assigned
- Can independently operate office machines, including but not limited to: typewriters, computer keyboards, printers, telephones, calculators, photocopiers and the like
- Can demonstrate competency in basic bookkeeping principles and procedures
- Can demonstrate competency in effective routine communication skills including proofreading, use of acceptable grammar and spelling, and oral communications
- Can demonstrate ability to independently type at a copy rate of at least 45 words per minute
- Can demonstrate competency in independently indexing, filing and maintaining basic inventory and filing systems
- Processes all applications that come to the district for all job openings
- Maintains confidential employee personnel and medical files
- Schedules Central Office second level interviews
- Prepares, types and distributes general correspondence, reports, and related items
- Prepares state and federal reports such as PIMS, SupPer, EEO5, etc.
- Utilizes CSIU and or Aesop software for the preparation of aforementioned reports
- Create, distribute and track job postings
- Maintain employee professional staff listing
- Organize job fair registration, coordination and preparation (occasional attendance)
- Help organize and assist in the screening events
- Track teacher certification for Act 48 compliance
- Track and send necessary paperwork out for district employees on FMLA
- Creates, maintains and generates reports and communications using personal computer data bases and software
- Processes in-coming and out-going mail and telephone calls
- Maintains an inventory of supplies for the work station and completes budge/requisition process for supplies
- Assists supervisor in maintaining appointment calendars and in appropriate administrative details
- Performs other duties as needed or requested by the Superintendent
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), carry or convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities
- Ability to independently ambulate in and around school buildings and office areas
- Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support
Is able to independently read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language

This position supports employees requesting assistance from the Human Resources Department. Ability to interact and support employees at all levels of the organization. Confidentiality and professionalism required. Strong and proven customer service, problem-solving, research, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
Position duties include handling family medical leave, leaves of absence, workers' compensation reports and claims, vacant positions/posting controls, scheduling and preparing for interviews, supporting all human resources functions, and assigning daily substitutes. Working knowledge of teacher certifications, teacher evaluations, TPE, and PE requirements preferred.

Reporting Relationships: Ascending � HR Director; descending - none
Position Summary: The Confidential Assistant maintains confidential information about district employees and external applicants that apply within the district. Confidential Assistant's also handle general HR office procedures as required and directed by immediate supervisors.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent
Experience: Human Resource experience preferred
