Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for all administrative duties within the HR department with specific emphasis on administering and tracking attendance on all union hourly employees and maintaining employee data in files as well as electronically in ADP. The position must protect all confidential information related to employee records and company policies. They are responsible for understanding and complying with the Company’s policies, procedures and work rules (code of conduct).
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring the HR Department is compliant with the Company policies.
- Prepare new hire orientation packets, Company Newsletter, and other necessary documents as needed, and coordinate employee events such as summer picnic, holiday parties, and safety milestones.
- Responsible for all employee communication boards, completion of verification of employment requests.
- Maintaining accuracy and privacy of confidential employment information.
- Responding to unemployment claims.
- Tracking employee leave of absences including FMLA/STD.
- Administration of company’s benefit programs including enrollment processes for active and inactive employees.
- Other job duties in support of the HR department as assigned.

Requirements:
All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post-offer health assessment. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or some college preferred.
- Secretarial or Administrative Assistant experience preferred. Experience working in a Human Resources Department preferred.
- Computer literacy including comfort using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- This position will use Kronos on a daily basis to track attendance.
- Experience with an HRIS system (i.e. ADP) is preferred.
- Must have ability to work autonomously given specific departmental based objectives and strategies.
- Requires ability to function with mid-level direction and communicate broadly within facility location.
- Requires good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented.
- Communicates across shifts with management employees, union hourly employees, and third-party administrators.
- Ability to handle and protect confidential information.
Travel: Approximate 0-1% travel required. Must have ability to tour facilities and grounds.
