Human Resources Developer 12
As the recognized resource develops, coordinates, schedules and delivers Pre-Service, New Employees and In-Service Training to employees and volunteers at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility (WHV).  Supervise institutional field trainers in preparation and delivery of training programs.  Conduct physical fitness tests for corrections officers.  Responsible for assurance of completion and documentation of training received by staff and volunteers, which is required by MDOC policies and procedures and in accordance with State and Federal laws. Function as the supervisor of record of OJT Correction Officers.  Actively involved in on-going evaluations for OJT’s and probationary employees.  Maintain files on all annual training for staff to maintain compliance with Public Act 415.  Ability to work any of the three (3) shifts.

Human Resources Developer 9-P11
The Institutional Training Officer (ITO) is responsible for planning, developing, and conducting training sessions, workshops, conferences, and seminars on various topics related to the organization, facility, and staff. In cooperation with the first and second-line supervisors, the ITO monitors and evaluates all new officer trainees during the probationary period of one year. This position works directly with administrators to evaluate and accomplish the training needs of the facility as required by the In-service and New Employee Training Plans, department policy directives, operating procedures, and legal mandates.

Human Resources Developer 10 

One year of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer. 

Human Resources Developer P11 

Two years of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer, including one year equivalent to a Human Resources Developer 10.

Human Resources Developer 12 
Three years of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer, including one year equivalent to a Human Resources Developer P11.


Alternate Education and Experience

Human Resources Developer (Departmental Trainee) 9 (FOR CLASSIFIED STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY)

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience
Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification. 

OR 

Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification. 

OR

Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification. 

OR

Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification. 

OR

One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification. 

*Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college. 

Educational Substitution
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience. 

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.


Human Resources Developer 9 - 12

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.


Additional Requirements and Information

New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
