Job Description
We are currently looking for an HR Generalist, who will support the day‑to‑day human resources operations and provide guidance to employees and managers across the three sites within the Teledyne Qioptiq business. This role is responsible for supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination, HR compliance, and general HR administration. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. This role will be onsite at our Miamisburg, Ohio facility.
What you’ll do:
Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with full-cycle recruitment including job postings, sourcing, candidate selection process, and coordinating offers.
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure a positive candidate experience.
Conduct new hire orientations and ensure completion of all onboarding documentation.
Employee Relations & Support
Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Assist with planning and supporting employee events across the three site locations.
Help maintain a positive and professional workplace environment.
HR Compliance & Administration
Maintain accurate HRIS records and personnel files; process employee changes and updates.
Work closely with employees and managers to support accurate and timely bi-weekly timekeeping process
Assist with compliance reporting, audits, and adherence to federal and state employment laws.
Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications.
Training & Development
Coordinate employee training sessions as needed, track completions, and maintain training records.
Assist in implementing HR initiatives and programs aligned with organizational goals.
Additional Duties
Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Support performance management activities, including review cycles and documentation.
Perform other related tasks as needed to support the HR team.
What you need:
Required:
Candidates must possess either:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus at least 1 year of HR experience; or
Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of HR experience.
Strong knowledge of HR practices and basic employment law.
Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via email.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and HR systems.
Comfortable working in a digital environment and learning new systems quickly.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and follow data integrity procedures.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Preferred:
Strong recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
HRIS experience – Workday and ADP experience preferred.
Work Environment
Office environment within a manufacturing facility.
Requires occasional presence on the production floor.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods as needed.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while working at a computer.
