About this role
The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team in delivering key initiatives and day-to-day operations that enhance the associate experience across the organization. This internship provides hands-on exposure to HR operations, systems, and strategic project work, including talent management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and retail HR support. Working closely with the Corporate HR Manager, Retail Operations HR Manager, and Total Rewards Manager, the intern will contribute to projects that support organizational effectiveness, associate engagement, and continuous improvement across both corporate and retail environments.
What You'll Do
- Support and lead assigned HR projects, including the development of HR resources, retail HR posters, and internal HR resource pages.
- Assist with pay transparency initiatives and related documentation updates.
- Support engagement survey coordination, reporting, and follow-up initiatives.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and committees, including the Employee Engagement Committee and Wellness Committee.
- Assist with 45-day and 90-day new hire check-ins, including tracking and communication support.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on improving associate experience and retention.
- Assist with maintaining job descriptions and employee data within HR systems (e.g., ADP).
- Support HR data audits and cleanup efforts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including preparation of materials and record updates.
- Support internal HR communications distributed to stores and corporate teams.
- Assist with state job board postings and recruitment-related activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Compensation & Benefits, and Corporate HR teams on shared initiatives.
- Support retail leadership training initiatives and store-facing HR communications.
- Gain exposure to employee relations processes, investigations, and case support.
- Learn how HR partners with business leaders to support organizational and operational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Interest in Human Resources, talent management, or organizational development.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Analytical mindset with interest in HR systems, data, and process improvement.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
