Job Summary:
The HR Intern at the Chatham Mill will support on‑site HR operations, employee engagement, and community outreach initiatives that strengthen the mill’s connection to local talent, schools, and community partners. This internship provides hands‑on experience in HR for a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Talent Pipeline Support
- Assist with hourly and salaried hiring needs for the Chatham Mill, including job posting, resume review, candidate communication, and interview coordination.
- Support local recruiting events, such as job fairs, high‑school/college visits, and workforce‑development programs.
- Help create accessible, external‑facing job postings that align with CFP’s recruiting guidelines.
Employee Engagement & Mill Culture
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation activities, helping ensure a smooth first‑day experience.
- Assist with engagement activities that reinforce CFP’s values
- Help coordinate recognition efforts, retention activities, and mill communication boards.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Help build and maintain relationships with local schools, training organizations, nonprofits, and community groups.
- Assist in planning and coordinating mill‑based community events (tours, volunteer days, outreach programs).
- Represent CFP at external community events alongside HR and leadership teams.
HR Operations & Support
- Assist with maintaining employee files, HR documentation, and data accuracy.
- Support HR initiatives related to attendance, retention, turnover tracking, and continuous improvement in people processes.
- Provide general support during HR team meetings and cross‑location collaboration.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, or related field.
