About this role

The HR intern will support the CooperSurgical Global Human Resources team by helping to optimize the use of existing systems to improve efficiency and time management. This role will focus on identifying and implementing more effective ways of working so HR Business Partners can dedicate more time to client service and value-driven initiatives. The intern will also assist with analyzing employee data trends to support informed decision-making and proactive risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive completion of exit interviews by migrating the master Smartsheet of data into Gallup, establishing a new, streamlined processDevelop a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with step-by-step instructions to ensure consistent execution by HR Business Partners. Analyze insights generated through the platform to identify key learnings and trends.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners across the function to present use-case analysis for artificial intelligence (AI). Aggregate and analyze data to identify routine HR processes that could be optimized through AI-driven automation.
  • Analyze trends correlated to Employee Relations and summarize findings.

  • Assist in coordinating CooperSurgical’s intern program details, including supporting and organizing local activities for Trumbull-based interns.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams; advanced skills preferred. Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and discretion when handling sensitive information.

 

Work Environment:

  • Professional office setting.
  • Ability to work on-site five (5) days a week at the Trumbull office.
  • Paid internship position. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.

 

Experience:

     Not required; prior Internship experience is a plus.

 

Education:

  • Current college student, preferably rising Senior year or graduating Senior/working towards a post-graduate degree. 
  • Major in Business preferred, coursework or affiliation with Human Resource Management, Communications, Psychology and/or Data Analytics is a plus.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required.
