About this role
Purpose:
The HR Internship will provide a hands-on experience supporting human resource functions as part of the Shared Services business unit. This role contributes to and supports recruitment, on-boarding, and other HR operations while learning best practices from other HR professionals.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with job postings, scheduling interviews, and supporting the onboarding process for new hires
- Assist with creation of new hire profiles in our payroll system (UKG)
- Process employee changes and complete off-boarding tasks
- Support employees with any questions or concerns they may have
- Update records in our Performance Management System (SABA)
- Maintain employee records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure completion of time sensitive tasks while remaining complaint with relevant laws and regulations
- Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews
- Maintain employee files
- Create reports as needed
- Provide support to the HR Leadership Team as needed
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
- Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications Required:
- Working towards a Human Resources degree or other relevant field
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
Qualifications Desired:
- Prior experience as an HR intern
