About this role

Purpose:

The HR Internship will provide a hands-on experience supporting human resource functions as part of the Shared Services business unit. This role contributes to and supports recruitment, on-boarding, and other HR operations while learning best practices from other HR professionals.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with job postings, scheduling interviews, and supporting the onboarding process for new hires
  • Assist with creation of new hire profiles in our payroll system (UKG)
  • Process employee changes and complete off-boarding tasks
  • Support employees with any questions or concerns they may have
  • Update records in our Performance Management System (SABA)
  • Maintain employee records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ensure completion of time sensitive tasks while remaining complaint with relevant laws and regulations
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews
  • Maintain employee files
  • Create reports as needed
  • Provide support to the HR Leadership Team as needed
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications Required:

  • Working towards a Human Resources degree or other relevant field  
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask

Qualifications Desired:

  • Prior experience as an HR intern
