About this role
The Human Resources (HR) Intern will gain a comprehensive and immersive learning experience within designated functional areas such as Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits. The intern will receive practical, hands-on experience through collaboration, participation, and assigned tasks and projects. They will also receive direction, guidance, and mentorship from professionals to effectively carry out activities and assignments.
- Participates in tasks, projects, and programs aimed at developing skills and expanding knowledge in specific areas of HR business.
- Works collaboratively within the functional area and across the HR department on key projects and tasks.
- Attends and completes all training modules, webinars, tours, and other training activities as scheduled.
- Actively participates in monthly community engagement connection events.
- Facilitates at least one bi-weekly meeting with the internship cohort.
- Learns and adapts to any required technology, demonstrating a commitment to quickly gaining entry-level proficiency.
- Delivers a comprehensive end-of-program presentation to fellow internship participants and HR leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree with a major in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or closely related field with a minimum of 60 credit hours successfully completed by the start of the internship. (Required)
- Recent graduate in a Bachelor's degree with a major in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or closely related. (Preferred)
Work Experience
- None required
- Previous office environment experience preferred
- Available to work 40 hours per week required
- Able to complete the entire 10 weeks of the internship required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Results-oriented and have high initiative; be curious, demonstrate a strong motivation and capacity to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications is essential. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Customer-focused, able to work independently, innovative, interested in exploring new areas, and have superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Critical thinking/Analytical skills
- Strong communication skills including excellent listening, written, and verbal abilities
- Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and a self-starter
