About this role
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a detail oriented, customer focused, and organized individual for our Human Resources - Immigration Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer in Pullman, WA. As an HR - Immigration Intern, a typical day might include the following:
Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Provide support to one or more applied disciplines including, but not limited to, Benefits, Compensation, Compliance, EH&S, Recruiting, and Learning & Development.
Modify and update applicant, candidate, employee, and/or organizational data accurately.
Respond to applicant, candidate, employee, and/or community inquiries, concerns and needs.
Cross-train with other department members to ensure seamless support of all HR duties.
Manage confidential files and other privileged information.
This job might be for you if you:
Are a current student pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related field at an accredited institution.
Possess proficient knowledge of MS Office.
Can maintain confidentiality and demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive information and data.
Have excellend communication and interpersonal skills.
Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
Are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Have background check results satisfactory to SEL.
Have negative drug test result(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Human Resources Information Systems
Knowledge of HR laws and practices

($21.50-24.25 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
