Human Resources Intern

 

AVL North America is looking for an HR Intern to join the Plymouth, MI team.  This opportunity will be hybrid; expect 1 day per week in office.  This position will join a growing team of HR professionals supporting the AVL NA company. 

The HR Intern provides assistance and supports all HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, administrative tasks, and others as directed.  Focus for this position will be on recruitment, onboarding support, audit support, etc.  

Qualified candidates should possess a High shool diploma and working towards a relevant Bachelor's degree. Candidates must have a proactive ability, be independent and possess strong written & verbal communication skills.  In addition, due to the remote nature of this opportunity, it is required for the individual to take initiative and utilize time management and prioritization abilities.


Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position. 

 

 

Roles:

  • Provides support and guidance regarding HR related activities, programs, policies and procedures to employees and management.
  • Supports company new hire orientation/onboarding processes.
  • Supports with the AAP requirements to help ensure compliance with required notices and information.
  • Assists with documenting, tracking and maintaining HR data on required employees and SAP database, creating and maintaining employee personnel files and job descriptions.
  • Manages the People on the Move communication.
  • Manages and assists in planning and organizing company social events.
  • Maintains training records and electronic filing of employee records.
  • Assists recruitment for assigned company(s).
  • Manages tasked projects.
  • Manages life event acknowledgements; birth, wedding, death, etc.
  • Manages the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Manages/supports the intern program.
  • Performs all other required tasks/duties in support of HR.
 

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 1+ year HR/administrative/customer service experience preferred.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office.
  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum individuals.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
