LSS is excited to offer an opportunity for a Human Resources Intern to gain practical, hands-on experience in a mission-driven organization.
As part of a team dedicated to supporting children, families, and communities, this role is designed to help you build foundational HR skills while contributing to meaningful, impactful work.
STATUS: PRN (based on availability)
HOURS: Flexible; Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Summer 2026
SALARY: Unpaid
LOCATION: In-person, Sioux Falls, SD

What You’ll Learn
- How to post job openings and support recruitment and onboarding processes
- Gain experience providing general administrative support to the HR department
- Learn how to build, update, and maintain HR documents and records
- Develop skills in record-keeping and documentation in alignment with LSS policies and values
- Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic human services environment
- Learn how to collaborate with team members to support organizational initiatives
- Access to a robust online learning platform with self-guided courses to support your professional growth and development
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED, is required.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, is required.
- Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.
