The HR Intern will work with members of the HR Team to gain a deeper understanding of day – to – day people operations. This individual will sharpen the soft skills that are critical in an organization with a focus on compliance, communication, and process support. The HR Intern will also gain a deeper knowledge of auditing, reporting, and the roles within an organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the lifecycle of new company policies and procedures, from drafts to approvals to communication with employees.
  • Assist in creating employee communications for all avenues of the HR department.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of cross functional regulatory compliance and adherence.
  • Work within the company’s HRIS system, Workday, to generate value add reports, interpret data, and communicate findings.
  • Gain insight into people management through supporting changes in the employee onboarding and orientation process.
  • Assist with learning and development planning and pilot groups.
  • Contribute to a wide range of HR projects, such as, career pathing, auditing process for improvements, and analyzing employee engagement surveys results.
  • Partner with other functions on company intranet updates and support company communication efforts.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Microsoft Office skills required, to include Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Strong customer service and presentation skills.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Communications or related field
  • Workday experience a plus.
  • Canva, photoshop, or similar program a plus.
  • Design or Website deign a plus. 

Internship Program Overview:
This is a paid, in-person internship based in our Raleigh or Durham offices, running from May 18 through August 7, 2026. Interns are paid $18.25 per hour and will gain hands-on experience by being fully integrated into their respective teams. Throughout the internship, participants will complete a capstone project, collaborate cross-functionally, connect with company leaders and executives, and participate in intern lunch-and-learns and other professional development opportunities.
