QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Two to three years of experience in an office with considerable public contact or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training that demonstrates desired knowledge, skills, and abilities
3. Minimum 6 months experience in an educational institution or human resources setting, preferred
4. Working knowledge of computer word-processing and Microsoft Office applications, and Google.
5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
6. Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Notary through the State of Arizona.

13. Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
14. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position, is held in the highest of confidentiality.
15. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures, and Board policies, including mandatory reporting procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete human resource office duties, receive visitors, answer inquiries, and provide general information relevant to the department.
2. Perform confidential and routine human resources and district recruitment assignments.
3. Applying knowledge of the school district organization, policies, and processes applicable to the function and office routines.
4. Conduct new hire, volunteer, and substitute onboarding/orientation per the established program, record and track onboarding requirements, and complete related tasks.
5. Oversee the substitute program.
6. Assist with new hire applications, interview process and reference checks on all prospective employees.
7. Perform data entry of information in the appropriate district software and maintain employee files.
8. Provide support and guidance to employees, volunteers, and substitutes and respond to inquiries regarding human resource-related policies, procedures, and programs.
9. Verify I-9s and Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) Employee Enrollment.
10. Create District badges.
11. Compose correspondence independently.
12. Perform departmental audits of employee personnel files.
13. Follow practices and procedures related to personnel file storage and retention.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms, sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend as necessary. The employee may lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens, and use the telephone.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have substantial contact with staff and the public.
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The HR Representative reports to the Recruitment & Onboarding Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer.  The HR Representative will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions.  All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: Starting at $15.85 Per Hour
WORK YEAR:           12 Months/8 hours
FLSA Status:              Non-exempt
