Duties

  • What to Expect Direct responsibility may include any combination of the following Human Resources areas: staffing/recruitment, and wage/classification. Provides expertise, guidance, consultation, and support on a wide variety of Human Resources issues to management officials, supervisors, and employees. Performs a variety of duties that require the application of the full range of Human Resources theories, principles, methods, and techniques. Exercises knowledge and skill in applying Human Resources methods, principles, and evaluative methods sufficient to advise on and/or resolve complex problems. Provides written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop and deliver briefings, project papers, status/staff reports, trend analysis and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of fact findings and recommendations. Advises and assists management on a continuing basis to find sound solutions to problems in support of Human Resources needs of the organization. Explores alternatives to accommodate management needs in the area of Human Resources administration. Assist in preparing Human Resources directives, special reports, and correspondence. Ensures that internal management control programs over Human Resources operations are in compliance with all current and applicable regulations. Conduct research through various methods (data collection, surveys etc.) to identify a problematic situation or find the cause. Conduct audits and formulate practical plans to address Human Resources matters. This position may be designated as a non-critical sensitive position; therefore, must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Tier 3, Secret Clearance level background check. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND four years of knowledge and experience in any combination or all of the following Human Resources functional areas: employee relations, employee development, labor relations, employee benefits, OR an appropriate combination of education and substantial Human Resources experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR substantial Human Resources experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of NAF Human Resources policies and procedures preferred.
