THE POSITION

Step into the role of Human Services Licensing Supervisor at the Department of Human Services and lead efforts that matter. You will be responsible for the inspection, licensure, and monitoring of community service providers, ensuring that appropriate regulatory standards are met and providers are operating in accordance with legal requirements and established rules and regulations. Your work will involve collaboration with agencies and active problem-solving that improves daily living for residents. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position inspects, licenses, and monitors community service providers to ensure that they follow all regulations and legal requirements. As a Human Services Licensing Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Inspection Duties: Conduct inspections of community service providers and programs to measure compliance with regulations
- Licensing Review: Review plans of correction and recommend acceptance or disapproval
- Licensure Decisions: Recommend approval, renewal, or revocation of provider licensure
- Technical Guidance: Provide guidance and advice to community service providers for correcting non-compliance areas
- Investigations: Conduct investigations of providers when complaints are received
- Hearing Participation: Attend appeal hearings and provide testimony regarding denied or revoked licenses

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position requires frequent travel throughout the Central Region which includes Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, Somerset, and York counties.
This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Human Services Licensing Representative; or
- Three years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Central Region which includes Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, Somerset, and York counties.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations.

- Employees who previously held regular civil service status in the job title of the position being filled are also eligible for promotion without examination.
- The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
- Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher.
- Applicants must have a minimum of one year in the next lower classes by the posting closing date with no break in service.
