Working under general supervision on one of three shifts, this role supports the reliable operation of large-scale HVAC, steam, and chilled water systems. %3Cstrong data-start=%22487%22 data-end=%22703%22%3EWe are looking for a candidate with strong experience in the operation and maintenance of large (25,000 CFM) air handling equipment, steam pressure reducing stations, heating and chilled water systems, and pumps.%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe ideal candidate has at least one year of relevant large-scale HVAC systems experience in inspecting and adjusting HVAC components, performing preventive maintenance and repairs, monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting exhaust systems, and completing mechanical and minor electrical work. Strong technical skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication are essential.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EWork Location%3C/strong%3E: Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EShift Requirement%3C/strong%3E: 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM, Saturday through Wednesday (shift begins Saturday night at 11:30 PM and ends on Thursday morning at 8:00 AM); overtime when needed or when available with leadership approval.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cspan style=%22color:red;%22%3E%3Ci%3E%3Cstrong%3E***INCLUDE ALL RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE ON UPDATED RESUME WITH APPLICATION SUBMISSION***%3C/strong%3E%3C/i%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cstrong%3EEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cstrong%3ERequired%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cstrong%3EEducation%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3EHigh School Diploma or equivalent or%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3E%3Cstrong%3EExperience%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3E1 year of experience in operation and maintenance of large (25,000 cfm) air handling equipment, steam pressure reducing stations, heating and chilled water systems and pumps and%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3EMust be a self-starter and have good communication skills.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cstrong%3EJOB DUTIES%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EOperates and monitors equipment, which admits steam into each building from central distribution point, pressure reducing stations, ensuring that steam is admitted into pipes at proper rate, and auxiliary equipment.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EInspects and adjusts air handlers, pumps, steam valves, electrical and pneumatic control systems, etc.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMakes minor and major adjustments and repairs and performs preventative maintenance work such as repairing water and steam valves, cleaning and greasing machinery and making minor electrical and/or other repairs to water, gas, and steam pipes, and other equipment.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EMakes regular patrols through mechanical rooms to record condition and operation of equipment to ensure its being scheduled into preventative program before failure.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerforms minor welding, brazing, and cutting, using acetylene or arc welder.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ETroubleshoots, repairs and replaces general and laboratory exhaust fan systems.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EInspects, dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment as directed.
