About this role

HVAC Piping Technician

The HVAC Piping Technician performs work with minimal supervision unless a major incident occurs in which the SME will provide support. Works on advanced assignments that require considerable judgement and initiative. Must have advanced understanding of equipment / processes in assigned areas and reprioritize individual/group’s goals to meet changing business needs.

    • Troubleshooting: Responds to system failures and troubleshoots, makes adjustments / repairs to return system to normal operational status.
    • Monitoring: Monitors the work of others in area of responsibilities to mitigate impacts to systems. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for improvement.
    • Teamwork: Develop procedures and collaborate with other HVAC Team members as needed to drive results
    • Training: Coordinate and perform on the job training to technicians as needed. Train technicians to utilize business processes as defined by Management.
    • Priorities:
      • To use Professional Behavior at all times.
      • Update Supervisor of daily activities.
      • Operations: OPs and the FAB are everyone’s primary focus. Assist with high-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Shift Techs: Provide training and support with site knowledge and guidance. Strive to develop technicians in order to make the team better.
  • HVAC Engineering: Support Eng with complex assignments and information gathering / sharing.
      • Review Critical Work Orders and drive to resolution.
      • Coordinate Vendors as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

        • Be accountable for outcomes, actions and take ownership of all results
        • Verify all TBMs, BMs, CBMs, ECs, etc. in GEMS for adequate inform comments, format, work order progression, etc
        • Update all workflow processes daily. Example: the “INFORM” section in GEMS.
        • Accept invitations from Weekly HVAC/EXH and UPW/IWT Eng Meetings.
        • Accept invitations to Design Review Meetings with Mechanical scope.
        • Attend Quality/Reliability Meeting if requested or deemed necessary.
        • Review Project Feasibility and determine Scope and Resources needed to execute.
        • Communicate Project / Repair schedules to stakeholders as needed.
        • Work with Project Coordinator to secure resources needed to support Project Commissioning.
        • Collaborate with System Owners to make improvements on Process equipment.
        • Forecast needs for additional resources and communicate to Supervisor.
        • Support 8D investigations and drive results.
        • Provide Weekly Report as defined by Supervisor.
        • SOP Review. Determine if SOPs are focused in making the Highest Safety and Highest Quality results by conducting reviews and attending scheduled audits.
        • Follow all HVAC procedures and drive to make improvements.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.

    Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
