Description

The Information Security Intern will support the Information Security team in protecting the organization’s systems and data. This role provides hands-on experience with real-world cybersecurity tools, processes, and best practices. The intern will assist in monitoring, analysis, and policy enforcement efforts while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of a modern cybersecurity team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents using tools such as SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint protection platforms.
  • Help perform vulnerability scans and assist in the analysis of results.
  • Support user access reviews and identity and access management processes.
  • Contribute to documentation of security processes, incident response playbooks, and training materials.
  • Participate in internal security audits, policy reviews, and compliance efforts.
  • Research emerging threats, attack trends, and security best practices.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to collaborative security projects.
QUALIFICATIONS 

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., firewalls, malware, phishing, encryption).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
 
Preferred (Not Required):

  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking basics, or scripting (PowerShell, Python).
  • Previous coursework, labs, or personal projects related to information security 
  • Interest in pursuing certifications such as Security+, CEH, or SSCP
