About the Department

Under limited supervision, employee shall carry out required job functions using independent judgment based on existing knowledge and that gained through research and analysis. The incumbent will resolve technical issues relating to computer hardware or software devices. Speaks with customers to diagnose technical issues, pulls reports with listed or escalated issues, or completes computer generated or assigned tasks. Specific job functions include but are not limited to:
- Prepares user documentation, including user manuals. Assists programmers, end users, IT personnel, and stakeholders to ensure that programs meet user's needs and are understood by users.
- Assists IT Manager in troubleshooting and re-mediating IT equipment and software related issues for end users. Assists IT Manager in keeping all agency computers, phones, programs, systems of record, and network devices running to minimize IT-related downtime for employees.
- Assists IT Manager with the management of all agency computer, phones, network devices and additional IT-related items. Assists in tracking equipment inventory of all computers, phones, network equipment and IT-related items. Assists IT Manager in developing minimum specifications for computers with specific job requirements. Assists in managing agency email and software accounts to ensure program funds are not being allocated to unused software or accounts.
- Maintains and expands personal IT knowledge and skills. Constantly seeks training and professional development opportunities in the areas of information and computing technology and programs, cybersecurity technologies, data security and information privacy. As required, attend meetings and training sessions in place of the agency IT Manager.
- Reviews monthly reports provided by the Division of Technology Operations for device consistency and mobile device management to ensure agency compliance for all assigned devices. Re-mediates any identified issues with employee devices.
- Performs additional duties as assigned but not limited to; assisting in the management and maintenance of the agency headquarters, event planning, setup and execution, disaster case management training, disaster recovery operations, driving, and emergency response.
Position Duties
A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderately complex knowledge of capabilities and intricacies of systems and applications.
- Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex to complex technical and non-technical instructions and requests. Ability to analyze and convert moderately complex to complex technical instructions to materials that can be understood by non-technical Personnel.
- Ability to use problem management database and help desk systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience with OnBase preferred.
