Duties

You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist for Strategic Weapons Facility (SWFLANT), Kings Bay, reporting directly to the Information Technology Operations Supervisor (SPK161).,You will design, manage, monitor, and support SPK Unclassified and Classified local area networks and infrastructure services while ensuring compliance with DoD/DoN IT/Cyber policies.,You will oversee the delivery of Help Desk and customer call support services.,You will interface with IT leadership daily as a primary IT delivery service manager.,You will develop new methods and approaches for delivering IT services in support of SPK operational processes.,You will conduct analyses and recommending resolution of complex issues affecting the SPK processes.,You will evaluate proposals for the acquisition of IT core services including preparing and presenting reports.

Qualifications

You are required to have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you are required to have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NH-02 (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector : Applying cybersecurity risk management framework principles to configure, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, routing, and switching environments using TCP/IP networking concepts to secure systems, control network traffics, and maintain compliance with security requirements. This announcement uses the Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) Business Management & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-4 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position. This position is part of the Navy Nuclear Deterrent Mission. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
