About this role

About the Department

  • Under general supervision distribute E.H. Cooper Trust fund checks and reports. 
  • Review bank exception reports and take appropriate action.   
  • Reconcile and distribute the E.H. Cooper daily cash receipts.  
  • Verify E.H. Cooper Trust fund transaction, process withdrawals and make necessary adjustments to inmate accounts.  
  • Process incoming mail.     
  • Respond to inmate requests to staff inquiries and assist institutional personnel with management of inmate accounts.  
  • Respond to calls/requests from the public.  
  • Prepare court filing fee transactions.    
  • Assist with the maintenance of inmate restitution accounts.

Position Duties

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for required work experience.


SCDC Minimum Requirements: 

  • A high school diploma and entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping. 

  • A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for required work experience. 

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft to include excel, multitasking, and have good communication skills.
