Duties

You will interpret laws, regulations and policies to ensure project proponents meet NEPA, the National Historic Preservation Act and other federal regulations as appropriate.,You will participate in the installation site approval process by attending any preplanning meetings and working closely with Asset Management to determine NEPA requirements prior to project approval.,You will complete project reviews in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.,You will serve as point of contact for Public Works staff and tenant commands on project issues and progress to resolve conflict and obtain concurrence.,You will represent Installation Environmental Department and act as a liaison to tenant commands, local agencies, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest and other commands to gather information for project reviews.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must have 3 - 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, planning or conservation. Education

For the 0020 series: BS degree in community planning or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance. For the 0401 series: BS degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
