Title: Instrumentation & Electrical Technician
Location: Freeport, TX
Salary: $80,000 - $108,000
Schedule: 4-10's
Focus: The I&E Technician will be responsible for applying technical expertise daily to ensure the safe and reliable operation of site equipment and to reduce operating costs by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities. The I&E Technician will collaborate with reliability teams to identify and implement reliability driven improvements and committees dealing with investigations, policy, and procedure development.
I&E Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Troubleshoots, improves, repairs malfunctions, and documents failure analysis of I&E equipment
- Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures, and repairs all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic variables
- Actively participates in the implementation of the Maintenance Work Process for I&E work
- Assists PPM Coordinator and ME role in defining appropriate electrical spare parts needed
- Updates and follows daily maintenance schedule
- Maintains accurate records including calibrations, electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
- Supports Root Cause Failure Analysis for I&E components
I&E Technician Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet one of the following experience and/or education requirements:
- 3 years of experience as an Instrument or Electrical Technician in an Industrial and/or Chemical Process Environment; OR
- Completed Associates of Applied Science degree* in Instrumentation Technology, Industrial Electricity or related discipline
- Understanding of U.P.S. and battery systems, high voltage breakers, and distribution systems preferred
- Working knowledge of Heat Tracing Systems, Instrument and Process Controls (Mod5, ABB, Delta V) preferred
- Familiar with Bentley Nevada vibration instrumentation and variable speed drives preferred
- Foreman experience preferred
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP preferred
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
- Must be willing to make call outs and work overtime per plant needs
- Must possess a valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Prior Olin experience in a related role preferred
