About this role
The Accounting Intern will support the Finance Department by gaining hands‑on experience across three key areas: General Accounting, Cost Accounting, and FP&A/Treasury. This internship is designed to provide broad exposure to core accounting functions, financial analysis, and operational finance activities. Under the guidance of department leaders, the intern will assist with daily tasks, month‑end activities, data analysis, and special projects while developing practical skills in a professional finance environment.
This internship is expected to last from June 1,2026 to July 31st, 2026
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Assist with daily accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and data entry.
- Support month‑end close tasks and preparation of financial reports.
- Help maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with AP/AR tasks as needed.
Cost Accounting
- Support cost analysis activities, including reviewing material usage, labor hours, and production variances.
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and cost updates in the ERP system.
- Help prepare cost reports and support ongoing cost‑improvement initiatives.
- Participate in data collection for standard cost reviews.
FP&A / Treasury
- Assist with financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support cash flow tracking and treasury reporting.
- Help prepare financial models, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Participate in ad‑hoc financial analysis and strategic projects.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple finance team members and learn cross‑functional processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of introductory accounting or finance coursework required.
- Prior internship or office experience is a plus but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial software tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with various finance teams.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and working at a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally (files, binders, etc.).
- Standard business hours with flexibility based on department needs.
