About this role
The Accounting/Finance Intern is a student enrolled in a four-year degree program at a college or University who assists in the day-to-day accounting processes and responsibilities within the Finance Department. Under the supervision of the Sr Accounts Payable Specialist, the Intern is responsible for a variety of functions pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial support functions. While some of the essential functions of the Finance/Accounting Intern role are completely independent, the incumbent will be expected to work in a team environment. The ability to take direction, as needed, from supervisors is required.
In This Role You Will:- Upload and distribute invoices in digital accounts payable system in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare basic Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist in ensuring the control environment is operating effectively
- Document and maintain thorough and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions completed using ERP system and/or Microsoft Excel
- Gather data and complete various financial analyses
- Perform general clerical duties to assist accounting teams
- Other duties as assigned.
- Enrolled Sophomore or Junior Accounting major from a four-year college or university
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient using MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and analysis
- Ability to work mornings or afternoons for 15-25 hours per week in 4-hour blocks of time;
- Must be available to commit to at least 15-25 hours per week from May through August 2026 internship period in Memphis, TN.
Nice to Have:
- Previous work experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge of accounting systems.
