Job Summary

The InterDigital Lab in Silicon Valley is looking for motivated Ph.D students for internships around AI/ML applied to Wireless Communications.

The AI Lab works on novel applications of AI and ML for video and wireless applications. You will develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes and research ideas that tie machine learning and AI technologies with a broad range of signal processing and wireless technologies and will publish your work in leading conferences.

Come intern with us if you are interested in:

  • Pushing state of the art in AI/ML for signal processing and wireless communication.
  • Formulating and solving real-world problems using non-convex, stochastic, and combinatorial optimization.
  • Research and design of ML algorithms that will be at the core of next generation (6G) wireless communication systems.

Problems areas that we are actively exploring:

  • Physics informed deep learning for channel modelling and estimation.
  • Hardware and energy efficient architectures for real time inference.
  • Cross model alignment across independently designed and trained models.
  • Efficient information exchange and model training in dynamic wireless systems.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. student in EE, Computer Science, Statistics, or relevant discipline.
  • Publications or research and development experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, data mining, optimization.
  • Background in wireless communication and/or signal processing is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Hands on experience with ML frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow.
