Micron’s ASIC Design organization develops next‑generation ASICs that enable high‑performance memory solutions for data‑center SSDs. The team partners closely with analog, verification, physical design, and validation groups to deliver robust, production‑ready designs across mature and advanced technology nodes.
The ASIC Gen‑AI Summer Intern helps architect, build, and improve GenAI‑powered engineering workflows and infrastructures that accelerate ASIC development while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Architect and enhance GenAI‑powered workflows and infrastructures for ASIC development.
- Develop reusable skills and capabilities for AI‑driven agents.
- Create scripts and utilities using Python and Perl to support engineering processes.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve design efficiency and quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in a BS/MS program in CS, CE, DS, or a related field, graduating May/June 2027 or later.
- Practical experience with coding assistants or agent frameworks.
- Ability to develop reusable skills for agent‑based workflows.
- Proficiency in Python and Perl scripting.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
- Ability to work onsite at the San Jose or Folsom office during the internship period.
- Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong software fundamentals and AI knowledge.
- Familiarity with Claude Code and its workflows.
- Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) concepts.
- Knowledge of machine‑learning concepts.
- Experience with Git and the Atlassian toolchain (Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA).
