As a Business Analyst Intern in the Information Technology Department, you will support Business Analysts and project teams in understanding business needs, documenting requirements, and assisting with analysis activities that support technology and business initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, collaborative, and interested in how technology solutions enable business outcomes. You will work with technology professionals, gaining exposure to enterprise systems, business processes, and technology delivery practices while contributing to real-world initiatives.
In this internship, you will have the opportunity to:

As a Business Analyst Intern, you may be exposed to the following activities:
Business Needs & Requirements Support:
- Assist with gathering and documenting business needs through interviews, document review, workshops, and observation of current processes.
Process & Systems Analysis:
- Support documentation of current state processes and systems
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve or support future-state business objectives.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Participate in meetings with business and technical partners
- Help summarize information and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Research & Analysis:
- Support research and analysis activities related to projects or operational initiatives
- Assist with impact assessments and basic data review, as appropriate
Documentation:
- Assist in creating and maintaining business analysis artifacts such as requirements documentation, process flows, and meeting notes.
- Gain exposure to common business analysis techniques and documentation tools.
Technology Delivery Exposure:
- Observe or participate (as appropriate for an intern) in technology delivery activities such as Agile or iterative planning, backlog refinement, or project check-ins.
- Learn how Business Analysts partner with delivery teams throughout implementation.
Professional Development & Networking
- Gain exposure to UFG’s leadership team through various networking events, including participation in the Build Your Network Program.
- Participate in development and social activities with interns from other business units.
- Receive coaching, feedback, and support from experienced Business Analysts and leaders.
- Be paired with a mentor or team member to support learning and development.

Here’s what it takes:
- Active undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Nice to Have
- Coursework in business analysis, systems analysis, or project management
- Familiarity with process mapping or basic data analysis concepts
- Interest in technology, enterprise systems, or the insurance industry
