Internship Details: 
  • This position will require you to be located in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
  • You must be currently enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate level coursework to qualify as an intern. 
  • We are in a hybrid schedule, 2 days in the office and 3 days work from home.
  • Interns are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship. OverDrive does not provide housing assistance or relocation support.

We currently have an opening for a Content Marketing – Kanopy Intern, supporting Kanopy—OverDrive’s premium streaming video service beloved by libraries, universities, and film lovers around the world.

Responsibilities:     
  • Research current social trends across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms, and pitch content ideas aligned with Kanopy’s brand voice.
  • Publish approved content across all social channels and schedule posts using Sprout Social.
  • Track and summarize weekly social media performance metrics; highlight insights and optimization opportunities.
  • Assist with B2C email content, including drafting copy, selecting visual assets, building campaigns, and scheduling through email marketing tools.
  • Submit and manage work orders for graphic design needs; ensure timely delivery of creative assets and accuracy of briefs.
  • Support video production workflows, including clipping, exporting, resizing, subtitling, and organizing assets for short‑form and long‑form content.
  • Assist with podcast production tasks such as episode prep, guest research, asset organization, and basic audio/video editing.
  • Maintain content calendars, campaign trackers, and shared documentation to keep the team organized and aligned.
  • Conduct light competitive research (streaming, libraries, film/TV culture) to inform content ideas.
  • Support additional marketing team projects as needed. 
 
Requirements:     
  • Experience with social media management and/or video production (coursework, personal projects, or professional experience all accepted).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity, tone, and detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors/contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable learning new digital tools (Sprout Social, email platforms, project management tools, editing software).
  • Interest in film, TV, streaming, libraries, or arts/media culture is a plus.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, experiment, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities, timelines, and creative requests.
  • Basic experience with design or editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar) is a bonus but not required.
