Position Summary:
We are looking for a Finance and Accounting Intern to join our team and gain valuable experience in the financial sector. As an intern, you will work with various departments and assist with various tasks related to financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. You will also learn about the fundamentals of our business and industry. The Internship is available for the academic 2026/2027 year (part-time in the spring and fall semesters, full-time when school is not in session). We offer flexible schedules and a supportive work environment. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong interest in finance and accounting, and a curiosity to learn and ask questions. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects and contribute to the success of our organization. You will also develop your communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills in a professional setting. This position is based at Amkor's corporate headquarters in Tempe, AZ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the Finance and Accounting team with various tasks such as data entry, reconciliation, verification, and documentation.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements using Excel and other tools.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Ensure compliance with global financial regulations and internal policies.
• Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with senior accountants on various projects, including audits and financial reviews.
• Collaborate with other departments and provide financial information and support as needed.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates and feedback to the team.
• At the end of the internship, Intern will deliver a summary of the projects, including recommendations for future improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• Student applicants must be currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree with a major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Candidate must have completed at least their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship with active school enrollment throughout the term of the internship (fall and spring semesters).
• Candidate must have a minimum 3.2 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to think critically and creatively and work independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Eagerness to learn and grow.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or other accounting software.
Location:
Tempe, AZ. This position has a hybrid schedule. Candidates must reside near the local Amkor office, no relocation or housing will be provided.
